QA overview
The 1.1.0 pass focuses on new risk areas: Smart Shuffle, profile migrations,
crypto transfer, playback rules, cover handling, and persisted profile state.
Vitest suites
Core playback
- Smart Shuffle: order generation, current-track preservation, queue stability.
- Audio rules: gapless, crossfade, and handoff rules between playback modes.
- Covers: loading, matching, and fallback artwork behavior in the local library.
Profiles and data
- Migrations: move into 1.1.0 without losing existing profile data.
- Profile crypto: `.ultimate-profile` export/import and encryption correctness.
- Profile state: queue, history, settings, and visual preferences persist correctly.
Manual / Electron smoke checklist
Playback smoke
- Ask mini-player opens correctly and returns focus to the main window.
- Gapless and crossfade are tested separately and together on longer album runs.
- Compact seek styles line, wave, and spectrum switch visually without artifacts.
Queue and profile smoke
- Select / bulk flows work across playlists, queue views, and track lists.
- Import conflict handling offers merge / replace when a profile already exists.
- Emoji, status, and local profile settings remain visible after restart.
Known limitations
- Encoder delay in some codecs can still prevent sample-perfect gapless playback even when the transition logic is correct.
- Popularity by country is shown only when the source explicitly confirms that data.
- External Wikipedia, MusicBrainz, and Deezer lookups may be unavailable offline or temporarily unreachable.
